Shots Fired – Hawkeye WRX

Name: Ryan Van Boven

Age: 16

City: Grandview Washington

Car: 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX TR

Occupation: Work at my dads golf course

I’ve always loved cars. Been playing with hot wheels or some type of cars for as long as I can remember. I watched one of Ken Blocks gymkhana videos when I was about 10 and that’s really what got me into the scene and all that.

Watching Ken Block videos also got me interested in watching WRC and rally in general, and that got me into Subarus. I loved them and said one day I was going to drive on of those fast rally cars.. Next thing you know I buy my dream car. A hawkeye Subaru Impreza.

Exterior parts: VIS racing carbon fiber duckbill trunk, ABW 40mm fender flares, CCW D11L wheels, silver wrap (original color is black).

Interior parts: Recaro bucket seats, Crow 4-point belts, NRG quick release steering wheels, with Avenue wheel, upgraded pioneer sound system with 11″ sub, removed rear seats (for roll cage) and a galaxy piston style shifting knob.WRX

Tuning parts: Mitshimoto radiator, Invidia downpipe with full Invidid N1 cat back exhaust, Exedy stage 2 Unsprung clutch, Cobb Accessport with stage 2+ map tune, Greddy type rs blow off valve. (Hopefully going to swap in STI motor and rotated turbo kit this summer).

What was your first modification?: Invidia exhaust. Was straight piped before.

What was your latest modification?: “stance nation” sticker XD.

Do you have anymore plans for this car? If so, what?: Either stage 2 rebuild with some STI parts, or just swap in a full STI motor and trans. After that, stage 2 tune with a rotated turbo kit from Cobb, and Mitshimoto FMIC. Other than engine work, I will put in a full Cusco roll cage, APR splitter, and an STI trunk with the STI wing.

If you could change anything on your car, what would it be, and why?: I would want to get a black STI trunk with the spoiler in the long run. The duckbill carbon fiber trunk looks nice, but I want more of a track look and also want to get some Enkai Rs05RR’s.

Previously owned cars?: None. First car

What car would you like to buy next?: After I build this how I want, I want a 2009 (or newer) Nissan GTR. Probably end up throwing a Rocketbunny kit on it as well.

The Verdict:  I’m In love with my car. How it sounds, how it feels, and just going on long drives by myself blasting music.
