Name: Joey Morris
Car: 95 EG hatch
Occupation: window company
I’m just a normal person like everyone else. I work mainly right now, graduated high school and went straight to work. Been making money and investing most of my money on my car and bills. My passion for cars started when I was like 13 years old. Started out with mini trucks with my dad, watched him slam them and make them look good. Then I started seeing Honda’s and loved the look.
Exterior parts: CS front lip, rare gold paint, ESM platinum wheels with BBS centers, tinted headlights
When I was 15, I told myself I need to get an EG hatch, and I ended up getting one when I was 17. That’s where the project began. Started simple; coil overs, wheels, front lip and doin little things. At the time, I wasn’t working a lot and had school still, so progress was slow. The scene was really small when I started, didn’t see any stanced cars or anything around here in St.Louis. I ended up meeting a lot of cool people I still hang with from when I started working on my car.
Tuning parts: It’s really all OEM under the hood besides tucking wires and relocating the battery to the hatch
Back in I think late September of 2014 or 2015 (I can’t remember), my car ended up getting t-boned. Some lady ran a red light in her mini van full of kids and smashed the side of my car… Was happy I was okay, but more worried bout my car. Surprisingly, my car actually started and drove home. From there forth, it sat for 2 months, then went in to get the frame and body work straightened. Re-welding and fab work on the quarters then primed for a couple months.
What was your first modification?: BYS front lip
What was your latest modification?: Full airlift suspension
Interior parts: NRG steering wheel setup, NRG shift knob, carbon fiber airbag tray, Wink mirror, S2k seats, my bag setup
Do you have anymore plans for this car? If so, what?: I have a lot more plans. Actually plan on getting a new wheel setup, finishing my interior, that’s why I haven’t showed my bag setup yet cause its not done. Still need to put in the plastic and little things this summer probably will get most of the plans done, but it will always be never ending.
If you could change anything on your car, what would it be, and why?: Would be not getting t-boned last year. Caused a lot of problems and the car to be down for along time, but on the other hand it did end up coming out great. I refused to let it go and have it totalled brought my car back and fixed it wasn’t letting go of my unfinished project and was my first car I had it since I was 17.
Previously owned cars?: ef hatch, da9, ek hatch
What car would you like to buy next?: I don’t know, I’m too focused on this one
Came back to the last season with a rare gold paint that everyone loved. Went to Import Face Off, but car wasn’t nearly finished. Still managed to win best paint job! This car has come a long ass way and will only be getting better.
